Katy Perry must know a lot of women on fertility drugs..

Because I know she wrote "Hot n' Cold" about me right now. This is what I feel like lately...

'Cause you're hot and you're cold
You're yes and you're no
You're in and you're out
You're up and you're down

Today was my first day of 4 estrogen patches. The difference between 3 and 4 is a bit surprising. I think I have a lot of the nausea under control. I spent a good part of last week and the weekend not able to eat many things, and feeling sick. In fact, Jessica and Kevin got a nice show when we walked into a potluck at church, and the room was full of the smell of Lil' Smokey sausages. The smell hit me and I immediately felt like I was about to loose it. So I threw some things on my plate and RAN out of the room. :)

The last few days have been much better as far as nausea, but the hot flashes and mood swings are getting more intense! I just have to keep reminding myself that, Lord willing, it will all be worth it in the end!

Although I can't wait to actually have morning sickness and pregnancy mood swings, and STILL be wearing 2 estrogen patches through the first trimester! That should be interesting!

School started last week! As nice as it was to be off for the summer, I am enjoying being back to a normal schedule. I feel much more productive having a schedule. Although mood swings at a school are interesting! Last Thursday I was setting up our classroom, and trying to staple some poster board to the wall. I tried to staple it twice, and it fell both times. I sighed heavily, then went to the bathroom and cried! haha! I felt a little ridiculous afterward, but for some reason, it was devastating at the time.

I go in this Friday to have my estrogen level checked, and lining measured. Lord help the doctor if my level is still at 63 like it was in the beginning! These patches better be doing something for all this! :)

And that is the end of the alloted complaining time. I did sign up for this, afterall.

  1. You are cracking me up! I never noticed anything major on the estrogen but possibly weight gain and swelling! Praying I don't have any more side effects when I start up again. NO NAUSEA please!

I can't wait until we start school either-schedules rock! We dont start til after Labor Day. I home school :)

  2. I was on the patches as well and they added an oral estrogen pill to get my lining thicker- maybe that would help??? I know sometimes one body does not "accept" estrogen the same way another body may- hense the different forms available- this can also change over time as the estrogen gel worked one cycle for me and next cycle did NOTHING!!!

I highly recommend the $10. motion sickness bands (Sea Bands is a brand name) from any drug store for helping with nausea. It really helped with my all day sickness!!!

    Best of luck!!!!
